The style and mood of The Void is that of terrifyingly desparate. The Void plays while Dr. Ryan Stone drifts into the black, empty expanse of outer space, farther and farther away from Earth. Her pleas over the radio to Mission Control go on deaf ears and the music gains intensity and bleak mood the longer she drifts off.

- There is a 2001 film called The Void. Coincidentally, in this film, Adrian Paul's character is named Steven Price, which is the same name as the composer of the Gravity soundtrack.
